French Eclairs
Marie Antonin Careme abandoned by his parents when he was only 8, started working by age 14 in the kitchens as a way to pay for his home and living expenses. What became a necessity and survival grew to become his greatest passion. He is known as the first to practice grand cuisine which quickly led him to celebrity chef status as his high art form of cooking was elaborated. He went to start up his own pastry shop and later moved to London after George lV requested him to come and cook for him. Marie Antonin Careme was known for his love for food and architecture, due to creating beautiful structural desserts such as the Charlotte and Napoleon cake. He is believed to be the creator of the French Eclair.
