About Rescue Chocolate
Rescue Chocolate is “the sweetest way to save a life” because from each chocolate purchased, 100% of the net profits are donated to animal rescue organizations around the country.
The packaging of each dairy-free flavor of Rescue Chocolate sheds light on a different aspect of the current pet “overpopulation” epidemic. Not only are we interested in raising funds for rescues, but we want to get the word out about these oh-so-fixable issues!
Rescue Chocolate was founded in late 2009 by the animal-loving chocophile, Sarah Gross. Gross has always shared her home with dogs and has felt a lifelong empathy for animals. Research about factory farms led her to become a vegetarian and then a vegan early in life. Growing up in Louisiana, she frequented her local animal shelter as a volunteer and trained to be a ballet dancer. Gross danced professionally in ballet companies on the West and East Coasts before moving to New York City. In founding Rescue Chocolate, she was able to marry two of her greatest loves: fine chocolate and helping animals. Her rescued pit bull, Mocha Bella, graces all Rescue Chocolate labels.
Rescue Chocolate is located at 39 Plaza St W, M1, Brooklyn, NY 11217 United States.
